People
Organisations are about people - even the bottom right hand corner of a P&L is simply the sum total of lots of peoples’ behaviours. Yet people don’t conform to the laws of physics and can be unpredictable.
This section will help you understand people, get the best out of people and learn how you can better influence your own interactions with other people.
Those difficult people
Published on 11th February, 2008You know we all have to deal with difficult people in all aspects and areas of our lives. The people themselves aren’t really the problem - it is how we choose to deal with them that is the key. Do we react, or do we choose to respond? Do we manage them or choose to let them affect us?
Ultimately the trick is not to play their games, but to recognise what is at play (even if they themselves don’t!) and learn to manage the whole situation, the context.
